Install your Joomla website manually via cPanel

You will need your cPanel URL and login details as well as the ftp access. If you don't already have them ask your hosting provider.

visit http://filezilla-project.org
download / run the filezilla client
Install the software
Open filezilla
Click -> File -> Site manager
Click - > New site
Give the site a name
enter the host name, username and password
Select -> server type -> ftp
Set Login type -> Normal
Click -> connect
Close filezilla
Download joomla files
visit www.joomla.org
Download joomla - Save it to your desktop or some other location you will remember
Unzip the download package
Visit your Control panel using the url
enter your username / password
Click login
Create the database
In your control Panel click on Mysql databases
Enter a name for your database
Click -> Create database
Under add new user add a user name
Enter a password
Click create user
Click go back
Under Add user to Database select a user
Select a database
Click -> Add
Click -> all privileges
Click -> Make changes
Click -> Go back
Upload website files
Open Filezilla
Click -> File -> site manager
Select your site from the -> My sites list
Click -> Connect
In the right hand pane double click -> public_html
In the left hand pane search for the joomla folder you downloaded and unzipped earlier
Select all the files in your joomla folder
Right click and select upload
When complete refresh filezilla to ensure all file have been transferred
Close filezilla
Installing Joomla
Visit your websites domain
Select your language
Click -> Next
Once installation check shows ok click -> Next
Click -> next
Under basic settings select local host
Enter the username, password and database name
Click -> next
Click -> next
Enter a name for your site
Enter the site administrators email
Enter a admin password
Click -> install sample data (optional)
Click -> Next
Open filezilla
Click -> file -> site manager
Select the site from the My sites list
Click -> connect
In the right hand pane find the "installation" folder
Right click and select delete
Visit your website
